Status: Ongoing
Date: 2024 –
Four buildings in a north facing slope in Trondheim. A rational construction at its core, but with free facades adapted to and nestled between large trees and five distinct ridges in the topography. Slender, vertical volumes behind and between the tall trees.
All apartments are worked out to get both views to Trondheimsfjorden, direct sunlight and short views into the green. An attempt at relatively compact plans yet with long glimpses through a sequence of spaces and open diagonals inside. Interpreting Milanese architecture from the 50s and 60s, inspired in particular by the modularity and verticality of the apartment building in Via Quadronno by Mangiarotti and Morassutti. Moved to a small forest in the suburbs of a small Norwegian city.
