Urban planning strategy for the redevelopment of Møllenberg for Trondheim Municipality.

The urban strategy seeks to reawaken the distinctive character of one of Trondheim’s most remarkable neighborhoods. Its ambition is to make Møllenberg once again a place where young families choose to settle, where children play in the streets, and where residents feel a lasting sense of belonging.

At the heart of the project are the local community and all those invested in the neighborhood’s future. Rather than an abstract master plan with distant targets, this is a framework for gradual, tangible change—built on temporary projects, grassroots initiatives, and ideas ready to be tested now.

Quick, small-scale actions to improve daily life are paired with a long-term vision for a more child-friendly Møllenberg. This layered approach brings together business owners, long-time residents, newcomers, and children in pursuit of a shared goal: a safe, lively, and welcoming neighborhood for all.

Project developed in collaboration with StudioSer (now Ofreia and Studio Tiziano Schürch) and Stuart Dickson.
